ASPETTI STORICI, FORESTALI E TECNICHE DI DENDROCRONOLOGIA: IL CASO DELLA TRAVE DELL’ABBAZIA DI PULSANO

ABSTRACT
Nel presente lavoro viene analizzata una trave antica, ritrovata per caso nei pressi dell’abbazia di Santa Maria a Pulsano nel Comune di Monte Sant’Angelo (Foggia). Dai risultati dendrocronologici ottenuti la trave potrebbe essere collocata cronologicamente tra il 1673 e il 1776. Tuttavia, potendo estendere il numero dei campioni, che allo stato attuale risulta essere esiguo, e compiere un’ulteriore e approfondita indagine, si potrebbe collocare la trave in un periodo antecedente a quello così indicato.
In the present work, a centuries-old beam is analysed, found by chance near the Abbey of Santa Maria of Pulsano in the municipality of Monte Sant’Angelo (Foggia). According to dendrochronological testing, the beam can be dated between 1673 and 1776. However, expanding the number of samples, which at present is small, and carrying out a more in-depth investigation could date the beam to an even earlier period.
